University of California Riverside California Museum of Photography

January 26 - April 5, 2008

Selections from The Captiva Collection are included in this three person exhibition that highlights three artists' responses to our ever-present cultural systems of costume and props, and the meanings connected to those who combine these systems in specific ways to create various personae.  The works in Trans-personae show individuals who flirt with, connect to, or are completely taken over by various personae. and provide a window into some of the ways costumes, props and surfaces define how we view individuals and their environments.

The Morphologies of Tyler Stallings & Naida Osline

Mt. San Antonio College Art Gallery

December 4, 2007-January 31, 2008

The Morphologies of Tyler Stallings & Naida Osline explores the body in a state of transformation, and its corporeal fragmentation as a metaphor for our times. Stallings, a photorealist painter, and Osline, a photo-based artist, create fantastical subjects that appear likely and probable to a viewer. It is this fine line between the documentary and the imaginary that gives both their bodies of work a sense of the uncanny.
